About the role
The Lead, Contract Governance plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the university’s contract governance and is integral to the success of the team, ensuring alignment with university goals and objectives. This is a specialist position that is responsible for further developing the University contract governance framework and offering insights that facilitate efficient contract management through effective processes, systems and specialist advice.
As the Lead, Contract Governance, you will:
- Manage aspects of Deakin’s contract governance process and system.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a multi-layered, proactive-focused contract governance strategy.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders on complex contract management issues, balancing governance requirements with University needs.
- Manage aspects of Deakin’s contract lifecycle and implement best practices for contract management.
- Build and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, through a high degree of organisational and industry knowledge.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience and management expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of contract management principles, legal requirements and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in contract negotiation and compliance.
- Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders
