  • Research Fellow Grade 1 $80,064 - $107,633 (effective 30 June 2024)+ 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)

As a Associate Research Fellow, you will:

  • Provide support to senior research colleagues (internal and external) to conduct research on a clinical trial focusing Quality Improvement in Cardiac Rehabilitation.
  • Contribute to all facets of trial activity where needed, including trial administration, data collection, data management, and recruitment.
  • Lead the preparation, review and maintenance of study documentation, including but not limited to ethical and other governance and regulatory documentation.
  • Liaise with cardiac rehabilitation staff who participate in the trial.
  • Follow-up with participating site personnel (including site visits and reminder calls).
  • Attending meetings associated with the research project(s) and other appropriate meetings, such as QUICR study meetings/ Institute / School meetings.
  • Develop working relationships with mentors and supervisors.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication and liaison with line manager and other staff within the Department, Hospital, Chief Investigator teams and other collaborating groups.
  • Deliver from the below accountabilities as directed by the supervisor.
                                                                                                                                           

To be successful, you’ll have:

Qualifications and experience

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or a post graduate qualification and experience in disciplines of health science, nursing, or psychology
  • Emerging research and scholarship through publications, and/or exhibitions as appropriate to the discipline
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research
  • Experience in the conduct of clinical trials, quality improvement projects, or working in a research environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
  • Experience working in the clinical sector, ideally cardiac-related services or nursing, more generally
  • Capacity to contribute to research and administration, including technical skills to support data collection (e.g knowledge of RedCap)
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and show leadership and initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to contribute to community engagement for research
