The Senior Coordinator, Accounts Payable & Receivable plays an important role in ensuring the effective management of accounts payable and receivable processes while driving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the university's financial framework. Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance & Travel Services, this position leads a team of Accounts Payable & Receivable professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, and aligning Accounts Payable & Receivable services with the strategic objectives of the Customer Experience Division and the university.
As the Senior Coordinator, Accounts Payable & Receivable you will:
- Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable & Receivable team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and service delivery.
- Continually evaluate progress and re-prioritise work based on changing needs and strive for excellence and effectively overcome barriers to achieve outcomes. Monitor progress and risks, adapt personal and team priorities and plans as required.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, processing, and payment and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors, suppliers, and contractors while adhering to payment terms.
- Coordinate and resolving discrepancies in invoices, credit notes, and supplier statements to prevent payment delays.
- Oversee the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment collections, and reconciliation.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, following up on overdue accounts, and implementing effective collection strategies.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications (or progress toward them) with extensive relevant experience; OR extensive experience with management expertise; OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and/or training.
- Experience in Accounts Payable or Receivable with a demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex issues.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Accounts Payable & Receivable professionals, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture.
- In-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable & Receivable, compliance, regulatory and audit obligations
