We’re seeking a visionary Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead our architecture team, define the enterprise future-state vision, and drive a scalable architecture framework.

In addition to leading the EA team, you will also be working alongside Deakin’s data and integrations team to align technology with business goals and vision.

About the role

The Director, Enterprise Architecture is a specialised senior leader working with stakeholders to shape, monitor and implement policies, practices, standards and/or services that impact fundamental and core university elements. The position is recognised as being both principal specialist, covering a total discipline in the university and as being knowledgeable in one or more related disciplines. You are responsible for leading the strategic design and implementation of the university's Enterprise Architecture.

The Director, Enterprise Architecture role reports to the Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture and provides opinions on a regular basis that influence the overall direction of the various business and technical domains.

As the Director, Enterprise Architecture, you will:

  • Provide leadership in driving initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with executive leadership to align with the University's Strategic Plan and relevant functional Strategy. Perform architecture design reviews and drive decisions to deliver shared objectives and collective success.
  • Champion the advancement of enterprise architecture, ensuring alignment with the university's objectives and long-term vision. Oversee the prioritisation and delivery of the university’s enterprise future state architecture strategy and ensure the university’s technology infrastructure, systems, and digital services are aligned with the university’s strategic goals.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to determine the need for strategic organisation-level capability improvement to satisfy the organisation's strategic goals and long-term objectives. Propose, initiate and lead significant organisational capability improvement programs.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities that enhance enterprise architecture. Establish and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with Deakin's culture and values.
  • Provide exemplary leadership to the enterprise architecture team, fostering an environment of collaboration, growth, and innovation. Develop team members' skills and capabilities.

                                                                                                                                                                                       

To be successful, you’ll have

  • Qualifications and experience commensurate with appointment at level.
  • Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of enterprise architecture strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of contemporary enterprise architecture discipline concepts and strategies and the capacity to adapt and implement these for the benefit of an organisation.
  • Proven resource and people management skills, including demonstrated ability to build effective high-performance teams and to successfully lead change.
