About the role:
Deakin Advancement aims to complement Deakin's vision to be a catalyst for positive change to benefit our students, staff, and the communities we serve. We build and maintain relationships with our cohort of over 350,000 alumni and facilitate generous philanthropic gifts to the University from our growing community of over 8,000 donors.
The Alumni Engagement Associate contributes to and delivers meaningful alumni communication, programming and events to engage our network of alumni and increase participation and affinity. The position will be focussed on driving and supporting faculty specific initiatives to build relationships with internal stakeholders and alumni in meaningful and impactful ways.
As the Alumni Engagement Associate, you will:
- Alumni Engagement Program Support: Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating alumni engagement initiatives, including events and communications, aligned with strategic goals.
- Relationship Building and Collaboration: Foster productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, both within and outside the University, promoting collaboration, effectively influencing and delivering on shared goals.
- Project Management and Coordination: Lead and support the delivery of high-impact projects, balancing multiply priorities and stakeholders while deliver within agreed timeframes.
- Data and Reporting Management: Oversee alumni data requests, coordinate with stakeholders on e-communications, and ensure accurate reporting on alumni engagement across the university.
- Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement operational plans, manage projects efficiently, seek feedback for improvement, and address barriers to achieve sustainable, high-quality outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including building and maintaining positive relationships with internal teams and diverse groups to achieve strategic goals.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and align faculty programmes to ensure they offer a compelling value proposition for alumni.
- Proven expertise in project management, including planning, coordinating, and delivering initiatives within specified timelines and budgets.
- Experience in organising and managing events, ensuring successful outcomes and high levels of attendee satisfaction.
- Proficiency in Adobe software and strong IT skills, with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and software platforms.
