As the Team Leader, Professional Experience, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring students receive high-quality support throughout their placements. The Professional Experience Office (PEO) is responsible for the successful placement of pre-service teachers for the professional experience components of their Initial Teacher Education (ITE) courses. As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership and supervision to one of two high performing teams.
Leading a dedicated team, you will oversee day-to-day operations, develop programs and processes to enhance the student experience, and manage escalated placement issues with professionalism and care. This role requires a proactive and solutions-focused leader who enjoys working in an ever-changing environment and continuously seeks ways to add value for our students, schools and early learning centres.
As a Team Leader, you will:
- Plan, coordinate and perform a wide range of specialist operational activities in relation to professional experience within the School of Education
- Effectively lead the staff and activities of the Professional Experience Office across two campuses ensuring appropriate workflows and resources are allocated within and around the different streams of professional experience activities
- Undertake process reviews and develop and implement new procedures in relation to professional experience, in consultation with the Manager, Professional Experience, Academic Director of Professional Experience, School Manager, Head of School and the School of Education Teaching and Learning Committee
- Provide high-level advice in relation to professional experience to various stakeholders in relation to major course reviews.
- Provide well-researched advice to the Manager, Professional Experience and the Academic Directorof Professional Experience on all issues relating to professional experience through research and analysis in areas of high priority.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Administrative management experience in an education environment, including experience relating to the administration of students and academic programs
- An understanding of professional accreditation requirements for teacher registration and capacity to liaise appropriately with schools and key professional bodies
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of leadership and management of staff and resources, including conducting performance reviews, particularly in relation to the requirements of a multi-campus team
