About the role

The Team Leader is responsible for leading the Front of House operations at Waurn Ponds Estate and other locations and venues as required, to provide and maintain the highest level of customer service to all clients’ food and beverage needs. The position will ensure efficient and effective resourcing of staff, equipment, beverages and delivery of all event requirements.


As a Team Leader, Waurn Ponds Estate you will:

  • Lead the team to provide high-end customer service, ensuring that the dining and front of house experience exceeds guest expectations and compliments the centre
  • Develop and implement effective team training for food and beverage service including substantial wine knowledge, be the champion of using and troubleshooting issues with audio visual equipment and recognise any further development that may be required for the team
  • Implement a new Point-of-Sale system, provide staff training and generate weekly & monthly sales reports
  • Oversee and lead the team in the day-to-day operation including set up/pack up, service delivery, presentation, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of event spaces
  • Seek customer feedback to ensure continuous improvement in service and food and beverage offering
  • Generate new ideas in line with market trends to innovate process and practice, including through technology and automation
  • Communicate with a variety of stakeholders ensuring the most appropriate influencing technique for a given situation to increase understanding                                                                                                                 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in hospitality services
  • At least five years demonstrated experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of liquor licensing laws and food safety regulations
  • Managing a team
