About the role:
Bring your sustainability expertise to Deakin and help drive the strategic direction of the Sustainability team in alignment with the University’s goals and commitments.
With proven experience in sustainability reporting and data analytics, you will manage complex datasets to inform key sustainability strategies and decisions. The role also involves developing and implementing plans across various sustainability initiatives, influencing the environmental, social, and economic direction of the University.
Strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to collaboration and stakeholder engagement are essential for building effective partnerships both within Deakin and with external organisations.
As a Senior Coordinator, Sustainability, you will:
- Manage data collection and reporting for NGER, TEFMA, and other sustainability compliance requirements.
- Integrate and analyse sustainability data to uncover trends and inform decisions.
- Engage with stakeholders, structure information clearly, and address questions effectively.
- Drive collaboration across teams and stakeholders to deliver inclusive, accessible solutions.
- Stay updated on evolving standards and regulations, such as GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, and others.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- 3-5 years of proven experience in sustainability reporting, data analytics, and data communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of global, national, and state environmental sustainability and resource management issues.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sustainability strategies and plans in complex organisations.
- Exceptional writing skills for developing clear, comprehensive proposals and strategies.
