As a Senior Coordinator, Residential Experience you will:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure a consistent, high-quality residential experience across all DRS campuses, in alignment with Deakin University’s strategic goals while overseeing the coordination of related activities across teams.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to the Night Welfare and Operations Coordinators and the Campus Life Coordinator, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Manage complex student welfare cases, including responding to critical incidents, escalating issues appropriately, and liaising with University services such as Safer Community for gender-based violence and other sensitive matters with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Campus Life Coordinator and team, ensuring the successful planning and delivery of programs, events, and initiatives that promote a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and engagement within the residential community.
- Lead responses to emergencies or critical incidents affecting the residential community, while implementing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance preventative measures, ensuring clear communication and coordination between all involved teams.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Experience in managing and responding to critical incidents, including mental health crises, student welfare concerns, and other emergencies.
- Strong knowledge of student welfare frameworks as well as experience in managing 24/7 operations in a residential or campus setting, with a focus on occupants welfare and safety
