About the Role: 

The Deakin Abroad team are seeking a motivated and organised Casual Assistant to support a range of operational, administrative and event-related activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys contributing to meaningful global learning experiences.

As a Casual Assistant, you will provide day‑to‑day administrative and logistical support to the Deakin Abroad team, helping ensure the smooth delivery of student mobility programs and related events.

To Be Successful, you'll have:

• Proven experience in administration or similar support roles
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, diverse, and high‑pressure environments
• Strong customer service skills, providing timely, accurate, and respectful support to students and program participants
• An interest in student mobility programs, or personal experience participating in one
• Solid digital literacy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and follow established processes and guidelines
• Proficiency with key software platforms including MS Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel
• Ideally, familiarity with Callista (student management system) and StudyLink (international application portal)

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Deliver general administrative support to the Deakin Abroad team
• Assist with the operational requirements of various global learning programs
• Respond to student enquiries (phone, email and in person) by providing accurate, helpful, and timely information
• Support program logistics and help coordinate or run on‑campus events
