Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Advanced Surgical and Medical Hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD which is close to beaches and the beautiful Lake Macquarie. The Hospital is also home to the Hunter Cancer Centre, the Hunter Region's only comprehensive private oncology service providing Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Research, Support Services and Education all located on the one campus.
About the role
Hill Ward is a 32-bed unit which specialises in caring for general surgical, orthopaedic, maxillofacial and urology patients undergoing elective procedures by providing pre and post-operative care. We also care for patients who present through our Emergency Department.
We are looking for a dynamic Registered Nurses or Enrolled Nurses who can lead a multidisciplinary team each shift to deliver a high standard of patient centered care. The quality skills we require are cooperative planning, coordination of care and evaluation of the care delivery for our patients. A necessary component for this ward is to be able to work collaboratively and ensure best patient outcomes.
This role will report to the Nurse Unit Manager and work collaboratively with Clinical Nurses and Shift Leaders cross the facility.
The successful candidate will have excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise tasks. You will have exceptional communication and organisation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in surgical nursing
- Previous experience in General Surgical |Orthopaedics |Urology |Maxillofacial
- Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patient
- Demonstrates excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
