An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Pharmacist with skills in Oncology pharmacy to join the St Andrews Private Hospital Dispensary Team in Ipswich. The team delivers a high quality full service to the day and ward oncology units, is part of the multidisciplinary team and participates in oncology clinical trials.
The successful applicant will be a registered Pharmacist and must have a background in Oncology together with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and patient care. Experience in clinical trials is desirable. Furthermore the successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and have strong organisational and communication skills.
As part of the oncology pharmacy team, the successful candidate daily responsibilities may include:
- Aseptic compounding
- Supervision of technicians in compounding
- Clinical review of oncology protocols
- Liaising with external customers and internal stakeholders to ensure chemotherapy and medicines are provided in a timely manner
- Providing patient medication and education
- Administration and dispensing of clinical trial medications and associated services
This is a full-time permanent role which is rostered for 76hrs per fortnight and there is a requirement to work occasional weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.
Knowledge of the Charmhealth Oncology Information Management Solution is advantageous and a full comprehensive training will also be provided for the successful candidate.
- Experience with working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Good working knowledge of the PBS system
A competitive salary is being offered together with the security of joining a large and well respected company. This position reports directly to the on-site Pharmacist Manager who will coordinate the required on-the-job training and ongoing support.
