We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Administrative Professional to join our Administration Team at St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital in central Ipswich.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working minimum 40 hours per fortnight.

The successful applicant will be available Mon-Fri between 0700-1700 for 10 shifts per fortnight.


About the Role

You will be joining our Administration Team and holding a key responsibility of managing theatre data, reviewing and submitting item numbers along with processing theatre usage daily. This is a fast-paced position and a crucial part of ensuring our theatre operates as smooth as possible. The position also includes Ward Clerk duties where in addition to general administration you will be responsible for organising and closing patient charts, bed allocation, data entry and recording relevant patient information to assist clinical staff in the fast past environment of a surgical ward.

In this role you will report to Administrative Services Manager and work closely with a supportive team. 

About You

To succeed in this role you will bring a professional administrative skillset and, experience within the Health Industry. You will be a proactive professional with a tight attention to detail and the capability to effectively manage your time throughout the work day. You will ideally bring experience in managing patient confidential information and be confident in reviewing and balancing data.

You will also bring;

  • Previous medical experience is essential for this position
  • A positive and welcoming customer service skillset
  • An understanding of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a high-performing team
  • Strong computer skills with a clear understanding of the MS Office suite
  • Any relevant administrative qualifications will be highly regarded
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates exceptional data entry skills, including accuracy and speed
  • Experience in Meditech (desirable)

About the Hospital

St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital is a 178-bed hospital and is revolutionising private health care in the Ipswich and West Moreton region. We’ve been growing and expanding our clinical capabilities and have recently opened the region’s first private emergency department along with a new intensive care unit which supports the Emergency Department. An additional 81 new private patient rooms and new operating theatres and sterilising department have also been added to our hospital. A new Women’s and Children’s unit provides quality local obstetric and paediatric services, supported by three new labour delivery suites. A new Renal Dialysis Unit was opened in November 2018, to further expand our clinical capabilities and enhance our position as a treatment centre of choice. The redevelopment of our hospital also included the redesign of our rehabilitation services, which is now a 39-bed rehabilitation/medical ward and a state-of-the-art gymnasium; with a new rehabilitation day program and outpatient services
