About the Role
Our staff is our most valuable asset as evidenced by our low staff turnover. This a rare opportunity to join our enthusiastic and motivated team! We are seeking experienced Registered Midwives within our Maternity Services and Registered Midwives or Registered Nurses in our Special Care Nursery. Our unit is dedicated to delivering a higher standard of support and care for mothers to be and their newborns. Our multidisciplinary team of experienced obstetricians, midwives, nursing staff, lactation consultants and allied health professionals’ work together to ensure a comfortable and confident experience – before, during and after pregnancy. Our maternity care also extends to an Early Parenting Centre and Perinatal Unit, with opportunities to work within these areas.
As a member of our clinical team you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality service is provided to our patients within the Ward.
In this role you will report to the Nurse Unit Manager – Midwifery.
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical skillset in a hospital setting as a trained Midwife. You will hold a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values. You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and evenings will be key for this role along with the capacity to rotate onto night duty every few months.
You will also bring;
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
- Special Care Nursery position – Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife / Nurse
- Dual Registration will be highly regarded
- 3 years’ experience or more as a Midwife with Birth Suite or Postnatal experience.
- Any experience in a Special Care Nursery will be highly regarded.
- The ability to speak a language other than English will be advantageous, but not essential.
The successful candidates will be required to be rotated into a night duty roster for 2 weeks per year.

On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $ 31.63 - $ 44.15 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (VIC RN/Midwife gr1-gr10) [FTE $62 516.09 - $87 256.01]
