An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join Ramsay Health Care supporting the Director of Finance over the Brisbane North Network (North West Private Hospital & Caboolture Private Hospital). You will be involved in the reporting and analysis of financial accounts, account reconciliations, cash flow and fixed assets management.

This opportunity is a full-time, maternity leave contract from August 2024 – March 2025, based at North West Private Hospital in Everton Park. 

Key role accountabilities:

• Coordinating reporting of financial accounts to Hospital management and Head Office, in line with required timeframes and reporting schedules
• Take responsibility for financial and tax compliance activities and help manage processes, controls, and reconciliations
• Efficiently and consistently processing very high volume of accounting transactions
• Providing cost centre reports to managers on a regular basis as required
• Oversight of daily cash reporting
• Assistance with contract coordination
• Assisting in identification and implementation of process improvements including development of effective reports and knowledge management and ensuring financial controls and processes are followed.
• Ad-hoc assistance with analysis and reporting as required

About you

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, possesses sound technical accounting knowledge, has high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, and can manage their workload to meet key deadlines. Additionally, you should possess a strong customer focus and demonstrate the ability to communicate well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.

Key Skills and Experience

• Qualifications in Financial or Management Accounting disciplines
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an accounting role
• CA / CPA qualifications or working towards
• Experience dealing with financial reporting, financial systems and maintenance of the General Ledger
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting issues and duties
• Ability to set standards, targets and objectives, and then coordinate work plans to ensure success in meeting same
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft products, and advanced skills in Excel
• Experience in either healthcare or hospitality industry and using SAP system software is highly regarded

Remuneration

A base annual salary ranging from $80,000 - $90,000 + super based on experience and qualifications.
