About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Maternity Unit Manager to join our busy maternity services unit at Kareena Private Hospital. The maternity services unit includes a 14 bed post-natal ward; three Delivery Suites and five cot Special Care Nursery.
As Maternity Unit Manager you will hold a key leadership and management role including accountability for the efficient and effective management of all staff, equipment and resources within the department and the fostering, development and maintenance of relationships with all key stakeholders. This role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services within the department to ensure the provision of excellence in patient and customer care.
Working closely with the Executive team, you will help shape organisational strategies, improve service provisions and achieve departmental and hospital strategic objectives.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong clinical and managerial skillset in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with a passion for client care and delivering high standards of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values. You will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will bring a capacity to lead and inspire a team of clinical professionals and act as a passionate mentor to your team.
You will also bring:
Essential:
- Relevant qualifications and registration (general and midwifery) with AHPRA
- Recent experience in a midwifery leadership role
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience within a maternity unit
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective role model in the area of clinical practice
- Demonstrated excellent time management, clinical problem solving and organisational skills
- Demonstrated commitment and skills in quality improvement and the use of quality programs
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and your team
Desirable:
- Post graduate qualifications in management or working towards same

Requirements
