The Opportunity
Join our dynamic payroll team as a motivated Payroll Officer to support our national operations. In this role, you will assist with the full payroll processing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include resolving payroll issues and providing support to the team. You’ll also collaborate with HR, finance, and IT departments to streamline payroll operations and ensure accurate reporting. This position offers flexibility and can be based in any state across Australia.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in preparing fortnightly payrolls for multiple locations.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation for new hires, contract variations, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate personnel records.
- Respond to payroll inquiries promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and reconcile payment summaries, superannuation contributions, and other payroll-related documents.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.

- Strong understanding of industrial instruments.

- Proven track record of working effectively both as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Skilled in planning, coordinating, and prioritising multiple tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to excellence.
- Demonstrated respect for privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience with the Chris 21 payroll system.
- Strong understanding of regulatory issues related to PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation, workers' compensation, salary packaging, and FBT.
