We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CSSD Instrument Technician (Grade 2-3) to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the effective sterilization and reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMDs) in compliance with AS5369:2023 standards.
You will be responsible for handling surgical instruments, endoscopes, loans instrumentations and other critical medical equipment across various hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical devices.
- Operate and maintain sterilizers, washers, and other CSSD equipment.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with sterilization standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of sterilization processes.
- Coordination of Loans instruments and Prostheses and Repair instruments will be desirable.
- Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and other healthcare teams to meet operational needs.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and workplace health and safety standards.
Selection Criteria
- Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Services (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a CSSD environment (Grade 2-3 level) would be desirable.
- Strong knowledge of AS5369(AS/NZS 4187) and infection prevention protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-demand setting.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility in working at other sites or departments when required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required.
Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $32.64 - $35.64 + superannuation + levels of experience and qualification.
