What You’ll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance patient safety and uphold high-quality clinical outcomes across all services.
  • Ensure full adherence to relevant regulatory, legal, and operational standards.
  • Oversee the practical aspects of care delivery, including bed management, patient flow strategies, demand forecasting, and workforce management.
  • Implement strategic workforce planning and support the ongoing professional development of the clinical team to align with organisational goals.
  • Drive growth initiatives, support business development, and respond to priorities identified by the Executive team and Ramsay Health Care.
  • Collaborate with the visiting medical officer (VMO) community to ensure the highest standards of clinical care are delivered.
  • Manage and maintain hospital and departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets in partnership with the executive team.
  • Evaluate workplace culture and implement strategies to address findings, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performance environment.

What You’ll Bring

As a proponent of The Ramsay Way - ‘People Caring for People’, you excel at fostering positive working relations with key stakeholders, developing people, building high-performance teams, and successfully leading them through organisational change. Additionally, you will:

  • Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape.
  • Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all clinical departments.
  • Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes.
  • Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Senior management experience in the private health sector, leading organisational change, and quality improvement processes.
  • Exhibit knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Post-graduate clinical qualifications.
