About the Role
Our hospital catering team aim to provide the highest quality food services to our patients, visitors, staff, and doctors.
This opportunity will see you report directly to the Catering Manager and will be responsible for the supervision of all areas of the Catering Team to support the daily operations and running of the department.
You will be responsible for leading a team of Chefs, Kitchen Hands, Diet Aides, Staff Cafeteria Attendants, Café staff and Food Services Assistants to ensure the efficient operation of the catering team and high standards of friendly customer orientated service are always maintained.
Our Catering team are primarily responsible for the food production/preparation, distribution and collection of all customer menus, food trays and beverages and ensuring cleanliness within the department in line with required Food Safety Plan, relevant HACCP standards and Hospital policy.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate prior experience working in a catering /hospitality environment. You will also have prior experience leading, coaching, motivating, and developing your team to achieve results.
Essential skills:
- Experience working in a Food and Beverage environment at a supervisory level.
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
- Accreditation as a Food Safety Supervisor to be maintained as current.
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office programs
- Able to work a variety of shifts on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWC) to be maintained as current.
- Able to work both within the FOH, kitchen environment, and in ward areas.
