About the Role

In this role, you will conduct patient assessments, deliver evidence-based exercise interventions, provide group based education sessions and contribute to discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team environment. Services are delivered in both an individual and group based settings across inpatient, day rehabilitation, private practice clinic, and mental health settings.

You will be responsible for assessing patients, prescribing exercise programs, and supervising therapy sessions across inpatient, outpatient, and day rehabilitation settings. Our patient cohorts include mental health, cardiac, pain management, and reconditioning, among others.

As a Ramsay Health Care Hospital there may also be opportunity for casual work across our other sites including Northwest Private Hospital and St Andrew’s.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive functional assessments.
  • Developing and supervising individual and group exercise programs.
  • Prescribing safe, evidence-based exercise interventions.
  • Delivering patient education within an individual and group based setting.
  • Motivating patients to achieve personal health and rehabilitation goals.
  • Contributing clinical feedback and outcome data to support reporting and service improvement.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support patient-centred care and discharge planning.

 

About You

You are a proactive clinician with strong communication skills who works well in a team and has a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Essential criteria:

  • Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
  • Bachelor of Exercise Physiology (or 4-year equivalent qualification).
  • Experience conducting functional assessments across a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, including oncology, orthopaedics, pulmonary, mental health and cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Experience designing and delivering evidence-based exercise interventions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Remuneration: $45.16 - $62.81 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
