THE ROLE
The Operations Coordinator role is pivotal in coordinating all aspects of the Supply Chain function. The primary objectives are to ensure Zero Harm, Operational Excellence, and Customer Satisfaction within the setting of Qube Energy’s Dampier Port Facility. This includes managing Customs, Biosecurity, and Chain of Responsibility assurance. Our goal is to consistently achieve industry best practices for safe and efficient cargo movement in the supply chain, benefiting both Qube Energy and our clients.
In addition, Zero Harm reflects our belief that we operate in an environment where risks are managed, and that work does not impact on our people’s health and wellbeing.
Specific Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance:
- To comply with Qube’s Safety Health & Sustainability (SHS) policy and procedure
- Maintain high safety compliance standards within the logistics space of FDTS.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of daily movements and safety protocols.
Traffic Flow Management:
- Plan and schedule all cargo related processing and transport movements
- Oversee the overall flow of traffic within the Cargo Terminal Operation
- Manage communication via the UHF radio system (as the radio network owner).
- Assure compliance with existing Site Access Control measures, ensuring that only authorized personnel access designated areas.
Third-Party Movements:
- Ensure that all third-party movements within the facility adhere to FDTS TMP (Traffic Management Plan).
Documentation and Compliance:
- Establish a robust documentation filing process and coordinate the team to ensure compliance.
Subject Matter Expertise:
- Be an expert in material packing, cargo handling, and container management.
Container Fleet Management:
- Ensure vessel discharge transport requirements are clearly communicated to all stakeholders.
Cargo Handling:
- Ensure proper load restraint of cargo, following the National Transport Commission Load Restraint Guide.
- Ensure all resources and movements are planned and scheduled.
- Monitor equipment condition and promptly report defects.
- Goods Offsite Receipting
- Maximise facility break bulk and container freight throughput
- Ensure the timely off hiring of containers.
Financial Administration:
- Monitor and issue quotations, invoices, and MMTs (Material Movement Tickets) to clients and third parties as required.
- Ensure all recoverable costs are accounted for
- Identify costs savings and revenue leakage
Team Development:
- Identify and encourage development and training opportunities for the logistics team.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Receive and coordinate material requests and inquiries from stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate with supply chain stakeholders to meet customer requirements.
External Service Providers:
- Contribute to and manage scopes of work executed by external service providers within the FDTS.
Quarantine and Dangerous Goods:
- Ensure compliance with quarantine regulations and handle dangerous goods appropriately.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in business administration or logistics preferred.
- 5+ Years’ experience in a similar role.
- Specialised systems knowledge
- Computer literate and experienced in MS Office Suite
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Car)
- Current Forklift Licence (LF)
- MS Project / P6 proficiency.
