The Department of Management in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech seeks applications for one tenure-track full professor position in Organizational Behavior/Human Resources to begin August 2023. We are interested in candidates who are full or senior associate professors at top research institutions. The potential for an endowed professorship exists for a candidate with very strong research credentials. The Department of Management offers a PhD in Business Administration with a major in Management. Many of our recent doctoral students have had papers accepted in top journals before they entered the job market. Therefore, actively training and working with PhD students is expected of the individual chosen to fill the position.
Recent accolades received by the Department of Management and its research and instructional programs include # 25 ranking in the Princeton Review's list of top undergraduate programs in entrepreneurship and the USASBE Model Program Award recognizing excellence in entrepreneurship education.
The Pamplin College of Business offers majors in management, accounting and information systems, business information technology, finance, hospitality and tourism management, and marketing. The Department of Management is an active contributor to many of the college’s programs such as the part-time MBA, EMBA, online MBA programs; the Master of Information Technology program; and the Executive Ph.D. program. Several programs are conducted in the Northern Virginia/metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.
