The Afternoon Host for Radio IQ will live-announce our broadcast of NPR’s All Things Considered as a primary duty, and, secondarily, produce news content and special programming as needed. They will also expected to be available to live-host, outside the usual 4 to 6:45PM weekday time-frame for special coverage (any time from 11 AM to 8 PM as news breaks) .
They will serve as the primary local voice most weekday afternoons providing news and related content as well as selecting and presenting the highest quality content for air. There will be focused attention to accuracy, balance and integrity while upholding high journalistic standards and maintaining a professional and accessible sound.
• Demonstrated experience in broadcast news anchoring, hosting, announcing, audio production, editing, and news writing/editing.
• Candidate should possess a professional sound and delivery live and recorded work as well as strong communication skills.
• Experience with broadcast equipment in studio and in the field. Strong computer experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (BA) in communications, journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Similar work in a Public Radio/Media environment
