Here’s what you need to know about the role:

You’ll join our team in a full-time, twelve-month, salaried position, reporting to one of our experienced Housekeeping Managers.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll oversee the housekeeping staff within a large university residential hall system. Your responsibilities will include hiring, training, inspecting, and evaluating team members to ensure exceptional standards. You’ll also lead initiatives to improve processes and manage operational challenges effectively.

Your mission: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all residents. In this role, you’ll serve as a vital link between upper-level management and housekeeping staff, ensuring smooth communication and consistent quality.

Additionally, you’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.

Lastly, you’ll be offered a starting salary of $42,120, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising housekeeping personnel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and industrial cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment, as well as OSHA and other applicable safety and health regulations.
  • Proficiency in operating commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for effective interaction with employees, team members, students, and visitors.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with computers, including experience using Windows and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience working in a large university environment, delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse community.
