A chemist with a strong understanding of the chemistry principles behind quantum mechanics, biomolecular simulation, and computational materials science. The position duties include using chemical knowledge and skills in computer programming to create computer code to describe and predict molecular relationships. These computation chemistry tools will be used in varied chemical problems to help understand reactions and to design molecules and materials that will predictably perform in desired ways. Will develop computational chemistry software infrastructure and frameworks for scientific community use and development. Will provide expertise in design, optimization, verification and documentation of chemical scientific software. Teleworking may be available on an ad hoc basis.
Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field plus 6 months of work experience in the job offered or any related occupation.
6 months of experience in computational methods for quantum chemistry or related areas.
6 months of experience in a research capacity in a higher education setting. Experience can be part-time.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
