We’re currently searching for a Medical Technologist to join our Schiffert Health Center team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re certified as a Medical Technologist, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Schiffert Health Center team; a department centered on the health and wellbeing of students in higher education.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Medical Technologist Senior, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% staff appointment
3) You’ll be responsible for performing all duties associated within a clinical laboratory, provide accurate and prompt reports to Schiffert Health Center staff and maintain a courteous and professional attitude to SHC patients.
4) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
5) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $50,000 - $60,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• ASCP Certified, National certification and registry with an accredited agency.
• CLIA or COLA Deemed Status standards are acceptable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of methodologies in all laboratory sections and proper technique in all phases of laboratory science.
• Previous experience performing phlebotomy and processing / preparing specimens according to established procedures.
• Previous experience with complex proficiency testing and laboratory analysis as per CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot instruments.

Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience working in a complex lab environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with laboratory software programs.
