The Lam lab (Biological Sciences) at Virginia Tech is seeking to hire a research associate to work on host-microbe interactions, antibiotic resistance, and antimicrobial development. Successful applicant will be expected to investigate the mechanism of antibiotic resistance, elucidate novel bacterial virulence mechanisms, study the host response to bacterial infection and to assess the efficacy of inhibitors of bacterial virulence factors in vitro and in mice models.
Applicants must have extensive research experience and training, including a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or related field. Strong record of research productivity as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals and demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication.
Ph.D. in biological science, medicine, pharmacy or molecular biology. Previous experience in working with computational analysis, different bacterial pathogens, virulence characterization, and antibiotics resistance.
Commensurate with experience, but within budget maximum
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
