Job Description

A Postdoctoral Associate is available at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute. This role will work with the Addiction Recovery Research Center (ARRC). The successfully selected candidate will work primarily on funded projects, including an NIH project examining long-term trajectories of addiction recovery and a Foundation project that is examining the theory of Reinforcer Pathology and Episodic Future Thinking as an intervention for tobacco use disorder in military veterans. Postdoctoral Associate responsibilities will also focus on the use of the International Quit & Recovery Registry to advance recovery science. In addition, this position will work on secondary data analyses from clinical trials for opioid use disorder that are part of a funded project. Moreover, ARRC has ongoing projects to examine decision-making in health behaviors on which this position will be involved. The position is well suited for individuals interested in technology applications and behavioral economics in addiction and health behavior. Furthermore, this will be involved in developing pilot and/or career training research programs in the areas of addiction, decision-making, and other health behaviors. The selected candidate will be expected to help develop these additional projects.

Required Qualifications

- PhD in psychology or appropriate related discipline. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- Possess a record of research excellence as indicated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
- Possess a solid background in addiction or health behaviors research and/or behavioral economics.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with behavior analysis and/or addiction research.
- Clinical trials experience.
