Title: Summer Painter

Position Purpose:
This position will execute all varieties of painting, related maintenance, renovations, and repair projects on campus. This position calls for high quality painting skills and the ability to work well with scheduling and other members of the Paint Shop. This is a seasonal/summer role.

Job Duties:
- Communicate well with all customers and understand their needs
- Operate all painting related equipment
- Perform all painting related functions
- Be assigned and complete work orders and PM (preventative maintenance) orders
- Interacts well with other painters, all Facility Services personnel, department heads, and residents of buildings where work is being performed
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- 0-3 years of residential and/or commercial painting experience.
- Ability to work with various types of paints and coatings associated with the trade.
- Pressure washer, paint sprayer, other equipment generally associated with the painting trade.
Skills and Knowledge
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to logically trouble-shoot equipment problems.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in the conduct of the job.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and outside contacts.
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal situations and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings, on-call and other non-traditional schedules.
