Bates College is seeking an Outdoor Education & First-Year Programs Post-Bac Intern to join a team of professional staff working to support all of our Outdoor Education & First-Year Programs on campus. This specifically includes assisting the Coordinator of Outdoor Education and Programs with planning and tasks related to the Annual Entering Student Orientation Program and other orientation initiatives related to the first-year experience. The Outdoor Education & First-Year Program Post-Bac Intern will also provide support for planning and tasks related to the Bates Outing Club.
The Outdoor Education & First-Year Programs Post-Bac Intern should be an enthusiastic, adaptive, and self-motivated individual with experience in outdoor recreation and program planning. The Outdoor Education & First-Year Programs Post-Bac Intern will assist with developing training programs, managing budgets, trip planning, gear management, risk management, and logistics. The Post-Bac Intern will support the AESOP team by providing timely assistance with responding to email and phone inquiries, supporting the implementation of Leadership Week & AESOP trips, managing the AESOP website, and supporting other areas of outdoor education and programs. The Intern might also be involved in various projects related to the first-year experience and new student orientation. The position is paid via stipend and includes an on-campus apartment and a five meal per week plan for the duration of the contract. |
