The Assistant Coach is responsible for aiding the Head Coach in administering a competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate program. This position supports the development of student-athletes through mentorship, guidance, leadership opportunities, community building, and a commitment to social justice. The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management of the program. This is a professional assistant coaching position, and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NESCAC Conference, and the College. The Assistant Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments. This position reports to the Head Coach. |
Director of First-Generation Programs

The Director of First-Generation Programs is responsible for developing, leading, and coordinating a comprehensive and holistic set of programs and services for first-generation to college students. The director will join a team of professionals at the Student Center for Belonging and Community, where they will direct all aspects of the Bobcat First (BFirst) and Kessler Scholars programs, dedicated to helping first-generation students thrive as part of a high-touch, cohort-based, asset focused model. The director will develop, implement, and assess programming that addresses first-generation student needs, interests, and concerns, with close attention to intersectional identities. Focused on high-impact practices, this position is accountable for the responsible stewardship, management and administration of the Kessler Scholars grant. This position will work closely with first-generation students through one-to-one advising to build relationships that foster a sense of belonging, and facilitates their academic, personal, and post-graduate success. |
Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Reporting to the Associate Director of Financial Aid, the Assistant Director will support access and affordability for Bates students by analyzing financial aid applications, calculating eligibility, and awarding financial aid. In addition, they will advise students and parents on financial aid policies, application processes, programs, and associated timelines. The Assistant Director will oversee financial aid awarding and notification for Study Abroad programs and will work closely with campus partners to support recruitment and retention efforts. |

The Associate Director will oversee the administration of federal and private student and parent loan programs and work closely with campus partners in the development and execution of programs of support and outreach for students. |
Coordinator for Events and Social Media

The Coordinator for Events and Social Media for the Student Center for Belonging and Community will offer event and social media coordination, planning and support to all events of the center.
The Coordinator for Events and Social Media will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date event master calendar of SCBC events, maintain a process for flier development, and maintain a regular online social media outreach strategy. Additionally, the Coordinator for SCBC Events and Social Media will be responsible for the outreach, promotion, and management of the center’s social media platforms for event and programmatic promotion through Instagram, Bates Engage and TeamUp. The Coordinator will serve as the SCBC’s representative for the monthly Campus Partners Social Media meetings.
The Coordinator for Events and Social Media will collaborate with center staff members to develop a social media strategy for upcoming affinity celebrations and cultural awareness days and months. The Coordinator will maintain an up-to-date calendar and system for promotion of Awareness events as they relate to the work and values of the SCBC. The Coordinator for Events and Social Media will also be responsible for maintaining the SCBC’s event historical records through photo taking at events, ensuring participant photo consent at each event, participant sign-ins, headcount, and/or registrations. The Coordinator will also be responsible for sending out event reflection/feedback forms to participants after each event.
