Job Summary:
The Administrative Specialist I TRIO - Upward Bound position is responsible for providing senior-level clerical, administrative, and project support for the Upward Bound program. This position may serve as the primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies, often on complex and confidential issues. This position is expected to have a high level of TRIO Program-specific knowledge.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements* ⦁ Performs senior-level administrative and technical functions for the unit ⦁ Makes technical decisions by applying policies, regulations, and protocol ⦁ Organizes unit events ⦁ Manages external stakeholders ⦁ Performs high-level, unit-specific tasks ⦁ Assists with Budget and Grant Management ⦁ Schedules appointments and maintains calendars ⦁ Prepares and creates memos, emails, invoices, reports, etc. ⦁ Performs assigned duties
Service Excellence ⦁ Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the Essential Performance Requirements* ⦁ Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite ⦁ Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) ⦁ Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Director, TRIO Programs
*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or 60 hours and two (2) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related to the Essential Performance Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
⦁ At least one (1) year’s working experience in a college or university setting related to the Essential Performance Requirements

⦁ Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication ⦁ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment ⦁ Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume ⦁ Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
