POSTING DETAILS:
 
- The folic acid program outreach intern will join our team for 20 or more weeks, working 16-20 hours each week.
- Start date - As soon as you’re ready we can accommodate your class schedule so that you may work during business hours.
-You will need to upload a copy of your resume, transcripts, and cover letter explaining how your skills are a good fit for this position, must have a current GPA standing of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Compensation based on education and experience.

 

JOB SUMMARY:
-We are seeking a talented and engaged intern who is working toward a degree and wants to develop beyond the classroom!
-You would be a great fit if you have excelled in courses related to public health, nutrition, another health-related subject, or communication.
-In this role, you will be responsible for conducting outreach to new and existing partners to promote the Power Me A2Z folic acid program and its various resources, including multivitamins with folic acid and assorted educational materials. Outreach could involve phone calls, emails, in-person visits, and exhibiting at conferences/health fairs. You'll also maintain an Excel file of outreach activities conducted and the status of each activity. 
-You will be coached and mentored by the Power Me A2Z program manager and/or others on the Emerging Nutrition Initiatives team. 
 

 

YOU WILL BRING THE FOLLOWING TO THE INTERNSHIP: 
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Interpersonal skills and an ability to initiate communication with existing and potential new partners via phone and email.
● Ability to make occasional visits to local outreach partners.
● Time management, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
● Occasional weekend availability to exhibit at local health fairs on behalf of the program.
● Ability to research and identify potential new partners.
● Familiarity with Arizona's public health landscape (community health centers, clinics, safety net programs) is preferred.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
