Job Summary:

Job Duties:

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Work under general direction of the Restrictive Housing Administrator to ensure compliance with Restrictive Housing practices and Department Orders at the assigned prison complex. This position conducts meaningful reviews of recommendations for placement or continued placement in restrictive housing and detention, and experience in facilitation of inmate programming. The position will analyze requirements as they relate to Restrictive Housing and ensure that inmates assigned to these areas are being monitored for compliance of expected ADCRR Population Management principles. Conduct reviews of all new placements in Restrictive Status Housing. Ensure all classification reviews are completed within required time frames. Ensure the step reviews and corrections plans are completed monthly, documenting the evaluation of the inmate’s progress and ensure movements to an appropriate new housing location are processed and completed within policy requirements. Travels on State business as required and perform other duties appropriate to the assignment.

Ensure all classification reviews are completed within required timeframes, with the reasons and evidence considered documented clearly in the inmate’s classification action. Ensure the step reviews and corrections plans are completed monthly, documenting the evaluation of the inmate’s progress.

Monitor and review Corrections Plans, Classifications Actions, Programming for all inmates housed in Restrictive Housing locations and ensure time frames, regulations and department orders are being followed.

Monitor and facilitate movement to lower custody. Ensure movements to an appropriate new housing location are processed and completed within policy requirements.

Tour all Restrictive Housing Locations (at respective Complex) to ensure compliance.

Complete required reports, attend meetings and training as required.

Assist the Restrictive Housing Administrator in coordinating the collection of all documents associated with this position at their respective complex.

This position is subject to the provisions of Department Order 522, Drug-Free Workplace.

This position contributes to the Correctional Officer Retirement Plan (CORP).

WORK CONDITIONS: Shift work; light lifting required. May be exposed to hazards associated with security and guidance of inmates; may be required to be on stand-by.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE OF: Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) policies and procedures; case and time management and utilizing automated systems to maintain records, evaluating and formulating decisions regarding inmates’ classifications, programs and general understanding of Population Management. Must possess knowledge of the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS).


SKILL IN/ABILITY TO: Problem solving, analytical thinking; maintaining interpersonal relations, communication – written and verbal, developing and maintaining spreadsheets and reviewing data for appropriateness and timeliness; Possess organizational and time management.

Provide concise and accurate information as it relates to the assignment, investigation and problem resolution; prepare concise and accurate reports; work effectively under deadlines; handle multiple tasks; exhibit sound decision making attend meetings and training as required; work with self-motivation and minimal supervision.

Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
