Job Summary:

This position is the Technical Director/Audio Visual Broadcast Technician for the agency, responsible for the setup and operation of live broadcast and Internet streaming of ACC hearings and meetings. Provides assistance as needed with video projects, including editing, recording, broadcasting, etc.

Job Duties:

Technical Director: Operate NewTek TriCaster TC1 and TC410plus switchers to produce live broadcasts and Internet streams of Commission hearings, meetings, and events. Independently manage live switching across multiple camera feeds, graphics, audio, and additional sources. Operate robotic cameras and demonstrate expertise with audio boards.

Audio Visual Equipment Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve audio-visual issues during live broadcasts and recordings, ensuring consistent, high-quality signal flow. Interpret technical schematics and develop both immediate and long-term solutions to maintain uninterrupted broadcasts.

Video Production Support: Assist in video production tasks, including video and audio recording, live broadcasting, lighting setups, and post-production editing using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with common audio-visual equipment used in live broadcasting.
  • Proficiency with NewTek TriCaster operations.
  • Knowledge of broadcast standards and best practices.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and apply troubleshooting techniques for broadcast equipment.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, especially Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Experience with Granicus Media Manager/Live Manager.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and networking.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Windows systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently, make autonomous decisions, and interact with the public, elected officials, colleagues, and vendor representatives—even in complex situations.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze user requests, business documents, and technical materials.
  • Creative, flexible, and able to function well within a team.
  • Capacity to handle pressure, multitask, and support live broadcasts effectively.
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional setting.
  • Physical capability to sit and stand for extended periods.
