Assists or determines the issuing of licenses to laboratories (Clinical) by ensuring the minimum standards of proficiency, methodology, quality assurance, operation and safety. Conducts initial and periodic inspections of laboratories and facilities to determine compliance with the Federal Code of Regulations, state Statutes or Rules. Review of quality systems by tracking documents, corrective actions, and other quality data. Conducts investigations of the operation of a licensed laboratory upon receiving a complaint or of an unlicensed laboratory performing compliance testing. This position is required to perform work at/attend meetings at alternate locations and/or travel (in and out of state) when necessary, possibly requiring a state, personal or rented vehicle. Corresponds with the regulated lab community or with regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from the laboratories, development of standards, rule making and laboratory inspections. Perform, assist or review detailed investigative or inspection reports, statements of deficiencies, and correspondence regarding changes in the status of a laboratory's certification, or other types of legal orders.

      This position is responsible for managing the archives reference services at the Polly Rosenbaum State Archives and History Building. This includes providing advanced archival research that requires comprehensive knowledge of government organization, knowledge of the classification system, arrangement and substance of archival records. This includes tours of the Archives units within the building. This individual needs an understanding of electronic records management and electronic records repositories. Utilizes other reference tools to answer reference questions both in person and via e-mail. This also includes collaborating with the Lead Reference Librarian and Desk Associates.
