About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Field Support Specialist to join our Sydney team. Reporting to the Branch Technical Manager, this role plays a critical part in supporting Schindler’s New Technologies portfolio.

You will provide high-level technical support across installations and commissioning, while also driving capability development within our field workforce. This includes delivering training, mentoring technicians, and ensuring best practice methodologies across projects.

This role is ideal for someone currently working in Technical Support, TSG, Field Engineering, or a Senior Lift Technician looking to step into a leadership and development-focused position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support to field teams (onsite and remote)
  • Support installations, commissioning, tuning, and testing of equipment
  • Assist Project Managers on new installations and modernisations
  • Identify skill gaps and deliver training, mentoring, and development
  • Drive installation efficiency and promote best practice methods
  • Support integration with third-party systems and resolve complex issues
  • Improve reliability and proactively address recurring faults
  • Ensure high-quality handovers and compliance with safety and lift standards

What we are looking for?

  • Electrical Trade Qualification (recognised in Australia)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the lift industry
  • Strong technical expertise in elevator systems, installation, and commissioning
  • Proven fault-finding ability across Schindler and third-party equipment
  • Sound knowledge of lift codes (AS1735, EN81) and standards
  • Excellent communication, training, and facilitation skills
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
