SCAD is seeking an experienced high-level coach to build a national caliber collegiate Taekwondo program. As a taekwondo head coach, you will recruit national and international level taekwondo competitors to represent SCAD in collegiate, national, and International competitions. You will foster positive community relations to build a favorable reputation for SCAD athletics and the team within SCAD, Atlanta, the greater Georgia area, and national communities. You will recruit qualified and SCAD-aligned student-athletes, establish training standards, and oversee well-structured practice sessions.
Among other duties, you will train taekwondo student-athletes to prepare them for success at high level competition. Additionally, you will create emergency protocols for injuries and coordinate with students, parents, and healthcare providers to assess player eligibility or ineligibility to participate.
In this role, you will lead the team towards national championships in collegiate Taekwondo, and individuals towards qualification for national and world championships. You will employ strategies that help student-athletes graduate in four years and find rewarding careers. Responsibilities include player retention encouragement, maintenance of regular office hours, and attendance at university events. Additionally, you will resolve issues related to the taekwondo program and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience coaching competitive Taekwondo athletes at the national/international level
Preferred qualifications:
- At least 2 years experience coaching Taekwondo athletes competing at the national/international level
- 3rd degree black belt or higher in Taekwondo
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Valid passport
Travel required:
- 20–40%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
