Job Summary/Basic Functions

The College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for Academic Year 2025-2026. Applicants should hold an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance or a related field from a AACSB accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2025.

The position serves the Finance and Banking majors by teaching Business Finance, Financial Planning, and Banking and Financial Services courses. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a 3/3 annual teaching load, develop, and maintain an active scholarly agenda, conduct academic advising, and participate in service to the department, university, and community. In addition, membership, and participation in state, regional, national, or international professional organizations is recommended.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Finance from an AACSB accredited institution at time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment.

Experience: Knowledge of current practices in finance and finance related field. Effective interpersonal communication skills Strong oral and written communication skills Analytic and problems solving skills. Active and effective listening skills. Ability to collaborate with peers and students. Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional communication. Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and professional integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching at the college or university level preferred. Evidence of potential ability in academic assignment and/or professional contributions and activities.
