Job Summary/Basic Functions

As a student worker in support of the Instructional Design Center, this role will focus exclusively on the design efforts for instructional material. Primarily focusing on editing and updating captions for instructional media in Canvas Studio, Student Accessibility Specialists will edit machine-generated captions to meet accessibility standards of 99% accuracy. Under the guidance of staff from the IDC, these student workers will play a vital role in the migration of video content from our legacy systems into Canvas Studio. Working under the guidance of IDC staff, this role will assist with the migration of multimedia into Canvas Studio as well as the captions for those videos.

Key Responsibilities will include:
• Migrate multimedia content from a variety of locations into Canvas Studio.
• Edit captions within Canvas Studio to approximately 99% accuracy.
• Utilize manual and AI-supported tools to edit captions and/or transcripts.
• Complete other accessibility-related duties as assigned.

Education: Must be enrolled at EKU
