Job Summary/Basic Functions

The School of Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for Academic Year 2025-2026. Applicants should hold an earned PhD or DNP in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a PhD or DNP (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2025.

The position teaches across nursing programs in the School of Nursing. It requires an unencumbered nursing license in the state of KY and a minimum of two years of nursing experience. The successful candidate may teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, on campus and/or online, and didactic and/or clinical courses in a 4/4 annual teaching load, develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda, conduct academic advising, and participate in service to the department, college, university, and profession/community. In addition, membership and participation in state, regional, national, or international professional organizations is recommended.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: An earned PhD or DNP in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered but must have a PhD or DNP (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Licensure & Certifications: Unencumbered nursing license in the state of KY

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in simulation and acute care adult health nursing or public/population health is preferred.
