Hours Per Week: 20 ( Spring Semester) / 29 (Summer)

Additional Schedule Details: Weekly office hours will be scheduled around classes and other commitments during the semester. Colonels Camp as a whole will take place during the summer.

Posted Salary Grade: $8.00/hour minimum

Job Summary/Basic Functions

Campus Recreation is accepting applications for the Colonels Camp Counselor position. Colonels Camp is Campus Recreation’s weeklong summer camp session for children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. In addition to experiencing the Student Recreation Center and the EKU Campus, children will participate in a variety of activities including sports, games, rock climbing, crafts, swimming, educational programs, field trips and more. As a Colonels Camp Counselor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in the weekly planning and preparation of Colonels Camp
- Provide safety and supervision of the children
- Facilitate and lead a variety of activities
- Have fun

Shifts are typically 5 hours in length throughout each week of Colonels Camp.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Must be enrolled at EKU

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with children and/or in a camp setting is preferred. Student majoring in Education, Recreation & Park Administration and other related programs are encouraged to apply.
