Job Summary/Basic Functions

Dual Credit, Part-Time Faculty, for the Department of English to teach in-person dual credit courses in Louisville, KY. A master's degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or MFA in Writing, from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution is required for consideration. Preference for experience teaching post-secondary literacy and/or college readiness/corequisite/developmental English courses.

Dual Credit Part-Time Faculty are hired by Eastern Kentucky University to teach college-level courses to eligible high school students through the Dual Credit Program. Faculty deliver instruction using department-approved syllabi, assessments, and course materials, and are responsible for all aspects of teaching, grading, and academic reporting. This role is central to providing early college access while upholding EKU’s academic standards and student success mission.

Faculty must meet EKU and SACSCOC faculty credential requirements and must be formally approved by the corresponding EKU academic department prior to assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or MFA in Writing, from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution is required for consideration. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference for experience teaching post-secondary literacy and/or college readiness/corequisite/developmental English courses.
