Job Summary/Basic Functions

Budget Specialist provides high level budgetary and professional support services for all activities of the college to help oversee college needs and support leaders. The incumbent will track financial data to ensure compliance with University guidelines and provide other budgetary services including, but are not limited to: budget forecasting, reconciling accounts, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and ensuring accurate information capture and maintenance within applicable databases/systems. May also train and provide technical direction to lower-level clerical staff.

The position manages and processes budget tasks, processes, and communications for the College of Health Sciences Dean's office. It assists/supports all CHS Department Chairs and AA's with their budget processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Certification or graduation from a four (4) year college or university

Experience: EKU Budget experience is preferred, but not required. One year EKU experience is required, but previous office experience is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • 45% - Serves as budget manager for the college and provides updates to leadership of financial positions at certain times of the year. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Processes, tracks, coordinates payments, and audits financial transactions for the college and create reports on budget information. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Assists in developing long-term financial models to perform revenue and expense forecasting to support the goals and strategic plan of the University - (Essential)
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Coordinate travel itineraries and processes information according to university procedures. - (Essential)
