Job Summary/Basic Functions

The WEKU Operations Director oversees the on-air sound of the station and technical operations as well as host an on-air shift

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in communications or related field is required

Experience: Five years on-air hosting experience.

Public radio operations for dual format or news station.

Job Duties:

  • 25% - Host the live on-air shift by planning and executing locally produced interviews and public affairs content, broadcasting the news and weather and recording breaks for the automation system. - ()
  • 50% - Manage entire broadcast operation including automation system, satellite receivers and studio broadcast equipment to make sure station sounds as technically excellent over the air. Work with engineers to manage the station's broadcast platforms including - ()
  • 10% - Supervises radio hosts, announcers, and station traffic. - ()
  • 10% - Collaborating with the Membership Director to execute revenue-generating activities including station fundraising promotion and quarterly on-air membership drives. - ()
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - ()
