Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Coordinator of Recreational Sports will provide planning, coordination, and implementation to the department’s Intramural Sports program, and Registered Student Organizations that are classified as Club Sports. This position also completes reservation processes, event oversight, basic athletic field preparation tasks, and oversight of the Esports lounge and program. This position oversees administrative functions and management of policies, programs and services that impact and enhance student life, department goals and learning outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required. Degree in Recreation Management or a related field is preferred. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: One year of supervisory experience. Graduate Assistantship may count toward experience.

Licensure & Certifications: First Aid, CPR and AED Certified, (instructor preferred),

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in officiating a team sport is preferred. Knowledge of Esports hardware and management software preferred.

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Oversee the design, implementation, management, delivery, and evaluation of assigned Campus Recreation programs; Intramural Sports, Student-led Sport Organizations, and Esports programs. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Oversee the onboarding, supervision, and development of part-time student and seasonal non-student employees, interns, and volunteers who support Intramural Sports, Student-Led Sport Orgs, and Esport programs and operations. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Oversee equipment purchases and development of policies and procedures related to risk management and onsite supervision of Intramurals, Student Led Sports Organizations and Esports. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist with scheduling and sustainability of facilities, fields, and equipment by guiding preventative maintenance. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
