Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Stewardship provides coordination for annual giving campaigns, including signature initiatives like Giving Day. This role oversees the execution of comprehensive alumni and friend solicitation strategies, facilitates all aspects of annual giving initiatives, and coordinates written communications to enhance donor stewardship and community relations. The Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of philanthropy by cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, ensuring consistent and impactful communication, and leveraging innovative approaches to engage and retain supporters.

In collaboration with the digital fundraising specialist, the Assistant Director aligns the creative vision for each year's campaigns, ensuring that all materials resonate with the target audience and reflect the university's mission and values.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree is required.

Experience: Three years of work experience in higher education. Preference for fundraising or alumni affairs experience.

Job Duties:

  • 60% - Annual Giving: Coordinate the design and implementation of annual giving campaigns to maximize donor participation and philanthropic contributions. Facilitate compelling fundraising appeals, stewardship initiatives, and donor recognition programs. Elevate increased annual gifts to appropriate leadership or major gift officer for follow up. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Program Management: Oversee crowdfunding websites and other online giving platforms to support fundraising efforts and donor engagement. Collaborate with development teams to align event and campaign strategies with overall fundraising and alumni engagement goals. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Work closely with Executive Director of Athletic Development to ensure consistent messaging and timely communications. Supervise Graduate Assistant and student workers or interns as necessary. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
