Job Summary/Basic Functions

Position Summary: The Graduate Residence Hall Coordinator (GRHC) is a live-in position responsible for supporting the development of a vibrant residential community through student engagement, supervision, and daily operations. The GRHC implements the department’s residential curriculum, focusing on personal growth, community building, and student success. This role co-supervises student staff, assists with crisis response, and collaborates with campus partners to enhance the residential experience. Minimum Qualifications
• Unconditional acceptance into a graduate degree program at Eastern Kentucky University • Enroll in at least nine (9) credit hours per semester in a graduate degree program • Maintain a 3.0 GPA in coursework leading toward the completion of graduate degree • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills • Possess excellent computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • Skills in multi-tasking and the availability to work evenings and weekends as needed • Possess excellent administrative skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-2 years prior experience living and working in residence halls • Experience in residence life, student leadership, or student affairs. • Crisis response, conflict resolution, or supervisory experience. • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Job Duties:
Co-supervision of approximately 20-30 student staff in their assigned building including resident advisors, community desk managers, and community receptionists. - (Essential)
Implement and support community development and student learning through our residential curriculum with intentional interactions, proactive student outreach, and events. - (Essential)
Daily management of a residence hall comprised of 300-700 residential students including facilities operations, occupancy management, and crisis response. - (Essential)
Collaborate with campus partners to support educational initiatives and living learning communities. - (Essential)
Collaborate with campus partners to provide academic support, promote student development, support educational initiatives and develop living learning communities. - (Essential)
Serve on the on-call rotation for a campus population of approximately 4,600 students. - (Essential)
Participate in a variety of weekly meetings including departmental professional development meetings, departmental business meetings, trainings, supervisory and committee meetings. - (Essential)
