Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Director implements, facilitates and manages a coordinated plan for recruitment, enrollment, retention and matriculation of veteran and military students, both resident and online, while ensuring program success and federal and state regulatory compliance. The incumbent plays an integral role in coordinating campus-wide training and development on issues related to the veteran and military student population. The Director partners with Development and Alumni Engagement to connect alumni, current and potential donors with OMVA and serve as a development officer under the leadership and guidance of the Development Office, as well as serve as the University administrative liaison and advocate to the Reserve Officer Training Command (ROTC) program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's degree is required.

Experience: -Three (3) years of related experience is required. Experience in higher education is preferred. A high level of experience in issues dealing with and advocating for the veteran and military population and a demonstrated record of higher education administrative expertise and success.

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Research, create, implement, coordinate and evaluate recruitment, admission, transition, and retention initiatives for the veteran and military connected student population that are aligned with the University's mission and strategic plan. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Maintain and cultivate relationships with current and potential donors/alumni and other stakeholders and create, manage and coordinate opportunities for engagement and fundraising. Ensure maintenance and sustainability of Veterans Memorial. - (Essential)
  • 25% - As financial manager, seek and oversee operational and VA, foundation and donor funding, ensuring proper fiscal management and appropriate allocation to meet departmental goals as well as compliance with University, state and federal requirement. Seek o - (Essential)
  • 15% - Identify and promote partnerships and coalitions with community and state agencies and University departments to ensure a high quality of delivery of services as well identify areas where services are needed or can be improved. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Support departmental functions by completing other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
